Huge apartment in classical building on one of the most active streets in the city.
An elegant marble and wrought iron entry into the double foyer leads to an elevator and thus to the second floor. Only 2 apartments are at this level so it is very quiet and exclusive. The first door opens into an entrance hall, and the main front door and a service door enter into the apartment. This provides for a very secure apartment.
Off this hall is a double sized living room with a fireplace above which is gold-framed mirror, a bay with French doors onto a balcony, floor to ceiling brocade curtains and a chandelier. The furniture is an eclectic mix of French XV111 century, including the sofa, 2 chairs and a large sideboard, which are complemented by a massive white leather sofa, a modern coffee table, a reading light and TV. The other end of this large drawing room is a reading area with sofa, side tables with lamps, an upholstered stool and antique coffee table. This end of the room also has double French doors onto a balcony overlooking Avenida Santa Fe with its excellent shopping, bars, restaurants, and plenty of buses and taxis available to reach any of the tourist sites anywhere in the city.
The dining room – across the hall from the living room – has a table with 4 white leather chairs and 2 cane backed carvers from the Louis XV111 period. The end wall is entirely covered with an antique mirror which reflects the light from the living room. The main lighting is overhead recessed lights but there are modern light sconces and some dramatic modern oil paintings.
The bedroom wing can be separated from the living room, hall and dining room by doors and while 2 bedrooms are furnished with Queen or King sized beds, what was the third bedroom has been converted into an office with a sofa bed. One bathroom is adjacent to bedroom #2 and the office and the main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. There is also a guest half bath which is off the hall leading from the master suite to the other bedrooms.
The master suite has doors onto a balcony; a TV on a table, and a bed with a large headboard with built in side tables and lamps, and lots and lots of closets. There is a safe in the closet. It is a very spacious suite with plenty of light, beautiful window treatments, and French paintings. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub, a walk-in shower, closet and marble sink.
The second bedroom is decorated entirely in French period style, white spread, prints of France, elegant lamps and mirrors. It also has windows overlooking the courtyard of the building. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and fixed glass screen and a sink set in a marble stand.
The office has a sofa bed upholstered in white leather, a bar trolley and a coffee table in front of the sofa. A side table is set up as a writing desk, and there are 2 velour upholstered chairs, and WiFi. One wall is all dark mirrored panels and the other end is full of windows - which provide lots of light for the whole room.
The kitchen is behind the dining room and is entered as well from the service hall-way. There is a breakfast table and lots of counter space by the window, and all the counters in the preparation area are granite. A new fridge/freezer, microwave, gas stove, toaster and all other appliances you could need to prepare a gourmet meal are provided.
Off the kitchen is a laundry room with washing machine and drying racks as well as a laundry sink. There is extra storage space in this area and a bathroom for staff.
The whole apartment has a delightful Parisian feel – Buenos Aires being the city often compared favorably with Paris – starting from the initial impression of the style of the building thru the design of the apartment to the French architectural features: high ceilings, polished wood floors and tiles.
A skilled and talented Interior Designer is in evidence here with the beautiful brocade curtains, marble and gold decorated furniture - along with comfortable beds and sofas, lots of natural light from both sides of the apartment and modern bathrooms and kitchen.
