I purchased this property for a client of mine that was looking for a good property that he could use when he was in Argentina and also rent out when he was not using it. I recommended Recoleta both for future capital appreciation and for rentals. It was the right decision.
The apartment is in a great part of Recoleta. It was unique because it was a penthouse unit that also included a small unit on the top floor that formally housed the doorman of the building. The top unit was directly above the property that we purchased so I came up with the idea to make the top unit a separate bedroom with in-suite bathroom.
I purchased the property for an affordable price and since purchasing it, the capital appreciation on this unit has been tremendous. Extensive renovations were made including these below:
- We completely renovated the bathroom. Everything was replaced including all fixtures.
- The carpeting was removed and the hardwood flooring beneath was destroyed. We put in hardwood flooring throughout the apartment.
- The walls were all repaired as there was extensive damage to them and totally repainted.
- The kitchen was totally renovated.
- A modern staircase was put in to connect the 8th and 9th floors so it turned into a 3 bedroom property.
- The apartment was furnished with modern furniture and all the space has been well utilized. The apartment also has wireless high-speed Internet throughout the unit.
